In this video you're going to learn a technique called the Gate Crash. Knowing how to do this is Critical to your survival in EVE.
The basics are:
- Wait for your session change timer to expire (you can enable this in options so it shows in top left of screen).
- Run back to the gate and spam the jump button.

Update: The Session Change has been shortened. Very rarely will you ever have any trouble due to session but still wait a good 5-10 seconds before running back the gate.
why u just didnt warp out? it looked to me you were out of the bubble range
He waited to bubble until I decloaked and I was wanting to do this as an example of the site anyway.
But if you jump in and are outside the bubble and you are in an Inty you can usually warp before anything locks you.
Forgive me if this is in the wrong place, but I can’t seem to find anything about what I keep running into. If I am travelling through Low-Sec I keep running into people sitting on gates that instant lock and instant kill me. This is, apparently, a new BS thing people are doing constantly now, and I have no idea how to get around it. I warp to a gate in LS and as I come out of warp I get INSTANTLY blown up. Ship and pod. I have had everything from frigates to battleships do this to me. How in the hell are people pulling off this ridiculous stunt, and how does one avoid it?
I can feel your pain, the way the mechanics currently are in EVE allows for game breaking Insta Lock Camps in my opinion. Done correctly InstaLock Camps will kill 60-80% of all non cloaky ships that pass them. Even my super fast Dramiel doesn’t make it back to the gate in time when it’s done well.
Luckily most of these camps do it wrong and there is still some chance to escape by reapproaching the gate and jumping through.
The best way around it is to either use a Cloaked Ship for travel or if you must travel with a uncloaked ship you can fit Warp Stabs (2 or 3) and escape most camps that don’t have HICs.
Stabs work best for smaller ships, larger ships need to use a the MWD Cloak Trick to have any chance. See this post: http://www.eveproguides.com/hauler-escape-evasion-mwd-cloak-trick/
Interceptors will make it through most the time, but to be safe you can add a stab and a few inertia stabs to speed up your align time.
Beyond that, it’s a frustrating part of EVE Life. Use scouts when you move anything valueable and when PVPing expect to die sometimes for no fault of your own. Sometimes lightning strikes on a sunny day.
