The Rule of Six – Hacking and Exploration Guide

Not too long ago I started watching EVE Players that stream over on Twitch. One of these was Crasskitty who did a lot of exploration and in the process taught the Rule of Six as she did the Data and Relic Sites.

I've never been in to Exploration myself but as a teacher I was able to see that this was a great trick that should be taught to as many EVE Players as possible. So I bought me an Astero and headed out to null to learn and practice it for myself so that I could make a guide about it.

The reason for this is simple... Exploration is a very popular way to make ISK and when done well can make a very nice amount of ISK. Anything that meets those requirements is something I have to share with you my readers, friends, and customers.

So after building my self up to a decent level of skill I made a Video Guide for you to demonstrate this technique and give you the tools to go out and make very good ISK.

If you like this and want more videos along these lines let me know. I can do some mission videos, combat site videos, etc.

  • Very interesting. My hacking has always been hit and miss but this makes sense. Thanks dude :)

  • Very useful stuff.

I am a big fan of the Astero, and one of the cool things you can do as a pilot with an explo background is cam out data and relic sites with a cloaky ship like the Astero and bag and tag boats like Heron's, Probes and the T2's and get easy kills.

I've duel repped my Hunter Killer Astero, and fitted with a web/scram the Astero becomes a beat with it's drone performance. It is my stepping stone towards the Pilgrim.

I love to see your take on the Frigate Pro Guide on the Astero, and if its too blingy for the job it can do?

    • nice... I've heard of other hunting exploration sites successfully by prescanning them. I've got a lot of other stuff lined up atm but I may do something in the future with it.

As for the Pilgrim I think it would work fine, however if you can do the job in an PVP fit Astero it would be more efficient.

  • Just came across this and found it very interesting. A couple of very nice little tips there. I assume it is still valid. I am just returning after a near 2 year away from the game and decided to explore some. I found I failed many of the more complicated boards and now I know why. Thanks.
