Core Skills: Skill Training Basics

As part of my Core Skills series I am covering some of the first things you should learn when you start to play EVE. For many of you this is stuff you already know, for those who don't this will give you a quick head start toward maximizing your Skill Training time.

In this video I show you how to use EFT and EVEMon to find which skills have the biggest impact on your performance and how you can focus in on those skill to quickly supercharge your character.

  • Aloha,
You missed a HUGE tip! With both of the tools you were using, you could load out your dream rifter (or whatever) in EFT, copy it, then go into a skill plan and click the "Loadout Import" button. (last on on top) This will show you and allow you to add to plan all skills required to fly your dream fit.

  • Great tips. About the EVEmon and multiple remaps, the button on the left part of the screen has two blue arrows pointing up and down. That is the remap button. It can be dragged up or down in the skill queue where needed.
Also, when planning with multiple remaps, the SP/hour column is extremely useful. Drag a skill before and after a remap to see which would be more time effective.

If you make an EFT guide on its own, don't forget to mention adding implants, projected effects (eg energy transports for logi). Most guides fail to mention them, and its not easy to figure out alone.

Either way, another great guide. Thanks for helping out the new players!
